ANDOVER, MA-- April 24, 2006--Enterasys Networks®, the Secure Networks CompanyTM, today announced that the Fachhochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (FHTW), the largest technical college in Berlin, has deployed Enterasys Secure Networks technologies to meet the data information needs of a diverse user base, while ensuring the highest level of security and interoperability with Voice over IP applications and services.
The Enterasys Secure Networks infrastructure at FHTW provides more than 10,500 students, researchers and faculty—including more than 1,000 VoIP users—with high-availability network and wireless access, simplified management and unmatched security.
Enterasys’ unique security capabilities enable the college’s IT staff to prioritize key services and identify suspect traffic to quickly identify and eliminate worms, viruses or other malicious activity before they compromise network resources. As a result, FHTW’s network can quickly combat a wide range of threats, while also preventing access by unauthorized users.

FHTW has deployed Enterasys MatrixTM N-series Platinum switches, RoamAbout® wireless technology and NetSight® Policy Manager. Network implementation was completed by Enterasys partner Auconet Gmbh of Berlin.
